Sladké je žít revives an acoustic concert by Mišík, Hrubý and Hálek. The album Sladké je žít presents a live recording by the trio of Vladimír Mišík, Jan Hrubý and Ruda Hálek. The recording was made in 2001 at the Alterna club in Brno and documents one of the less common lineups of the legendary concert formations also known as Čundrground. The release loosely follows the 2017 title S nebem to mám dobrý and returns to the form of concerts connected with the circle of musicians around Vladimír Mišík.
The LP edition includes 12 tracks while the CD version offers five bonus tracks. Alongside well known songs by Mišík, the album also features compositions associated with Jan Hrubý and the repertoire of Kukulín. The recording comes across as a natural live encounter of three distinctive personalities united by shared musical experience.
At the same time, the album recalls the phenomenon of the loosely connected musical collective known as Čundrground. It was an open platform formed around the songs of Vladimír Mišík, bringing together a wide range of notable musicians across the scene. The ever changing acoustic concert lineups with Vladimír Merta, Petr Kalandra and Jan Hrubý were at times complemented by musicians who happened to be available. This openness gave rise to unique concert encounters that could not be repeated.
The newly released acoustic live recording with accordion player Ruda Hálek, known from Jan Hrubý’s Kukulín, captures precisely these rare moments. Frequently performed Mišík songs such as Stříhali dohola malého chlapečka, Sladké je žít or Variace na renesanční téma gain a distinctive and unrepeatable charm in arrangements for guitar, violin and button accordion.
