‘One Moment’ is a Polycyclic World Music album (for more listening and information about Polycycles see: www.trevorcoleman.co.nz/polycycles). The centrepiece of this work is the collaboration with the Czech/Silesian singer Beata Bocek and New Zealand composer Trevor Coleman. Much of the underlying music is derived from Trevor''s Chamber Music album with Heleen Du Plessis, cello, and Nick Cornish, reeds. As an extra dimension to these Polycycles, Trevor invited and encouraged Beata to freely improvise from her rich musical heritage. Eastern European vocal traditions combined with Spanish, North African and Middle Eastern rhythms provided by Andalusian percussionist Rafael Garcia, and multiple other stylistic layers and cycles, result in a hauntingly beautiful world fusion.
